You got your new puppy and the first thing that you need to train them in is potty training. You want your dog to go outside and not indoors. You want to establish a routine with the puppy so it will get in a habit to go outside. You should also use a crate so when you can't watch your new puppy it won't go indoors. This is not inhumane for the dog. The dog is a den animal and it will feel safe and secure in its own place.
If the puppy does goes inside then you want to say your word that you use to tell the puppy to go to the bathroom outside and bring him out. You don't want to put the dogs nose in the mess. Here are some tips on successful Potty Puppy training:
1. You want to pick a spot outside it can be in the backyard or in the front yard always bring him or her there first so your puppy will go the bathroom.
2. You want to use a command so your new puppy knows to go the bathroom. This can be bathroom, do it, potty, etc.
3. If your dog goes outside praise the hell out of the puppy. After the puppy goes go for a long walk and play with it.
4. You don't want to punish the dog like I said. You don't want to stick the nose of the puppy in it. If you see that the puppy did go inside say your command then bring the dog to your spot that you designated.
5. If you see your dog doing his business inside try to make the puppy stop and then bring the puppy outside to finish his business. It will take your new puppy some time to learn where he or she needs to go and be patient with them.

1. As soon as you bring your new puppy home, decide on an enclosed area in the house that is relatively confined and preferably tiled. This will make the night's activities easier to clean up in the morning. It can also minimize any damage to carpets while puppy is being toilet trained.
2. It is important to thoroughly clean this tiled area so that there is no hint of an odor left that will make puppy think that this is his toilet.
3. Be consistent with where you want puppy to "go" right from the outset. Choose a corner in the yard that can be easily accessed by puppy. Make sure that this spot is accessible for you as well; otherwise you will put off taking him outside when he needs to go.
4. Take pre-emptive action with your potty training. Make it a habit to go outside with him first thing in the morning, straight after he has eaten, frequently during the day and last thing at night. Wait with puppy in the specially selected spot so that you can praise him as soon as he obliges. There will be times when you take him to this special place in the yard and nothing happens. In that case, after you have waited a reasonable length of time, you can take him back to the tiled enclosed area for a spell and then try again later.
5. Be consistent in your praise so that puppy knows every time he has "done it correctly" or more importantly every time he has done it in the correct spot. Give him a little treat and spend a few moments playing with him.
6. Try to plan puppy's meal times so that you will have enough time to go with him straight after eating.
7. Use the same verbal responses after he obliges so that he comes to recognize these special words as praise and knows when he has in fact done it in the right spot.
8. Make it a habit to pick up after puppy each day so that the yard is not littered everywhere. If you do this, it will encourage puppy to go to the designated spot rather than just anywhere in the yard.

Potty training your new American Pit Bull Terrier puppy is a necessary evil. Your dog needs to learn at an early age where to properly relieve himself. You can begin working with your pup at 8 weeks of age.
Puppy potty training can sometimes prove to be a frustrating task. You must do the same routine every single day and it is important to give your puppy a lot of extra attention as this will make the house breaking process much easier. The house training process will take longer if you are gone during the day at a job because your dog won't be able to hold it for extended periods of time when he is just starting out.
To begin potty training your Pit Bull, give him an area that is all his own. A tiled laundry room works very well if you have one in your residence. Cover the area with newspaper and make sure that you give him access to his bed, toys, and food bowl. When leaving to go out, make sure that your Pit pup is in his "area" and cannot leave. You can buy a baby gate which will keep him confined, without feeling shut in.
After you have gone, he will need to go potty at some point and will relieve himself. It is a bad idea and completely ineffective to scold your puppy for having an accident in the house. As much as it might not be what you want to do, golden retriever puppy training is a task that needs to be started as soon as the puppy arrives home. No surprise is the fact that the first job is to get puppy 'potty trained'. Doggy mess around the house is not the best scenario, so to get this little puppy 'potty trained' as soon as possible is highly desirable. This might seem like a major job but it is much better putting the effort into training puppy to go to the right place rather than do all the cleaning up!
Puppy needs some help with this training because there are so many new smells around and so many new places that she just doesn't know where she is meant to be. Start right from the very first arrival at home. As soon as she is taken out of the car take her to her 'outside toilet spot', put her down and wait until she does something. This could take a while because she will need to sniff around first and check it all out.
After a meal their little tummy is so full they usually need to go to the toilet so as soon as she had had a feed, trot her out to the toilet. One puppy I had learnt this straight away and we never had papers in the house for her to use during the day. Only at night did we have to put something down for her.
When using papers inside, put a good thickness down and when she does her business, remove the top layers and put fresh ones underneath and this way she will still notice the smell and know that is where she is to go.
So, apart from the arrival home, the steps for 'potty training' are:
· As soon as she wakes up in the morning or during the day after a long sleep, take her outside to her toilet spot
· When she has been fed take her outside
· If you have been for a walk, take her to her toilet spot
With constant repetition it will not be long at all before she is going to this spot on her own.
Do remember that for her to be able to comply with this training she must be able to go out whenever she wishes so she must have free access to the back yard.
It is not cool to be angry if she messes inside, but simply show her the mess and take her out to the toilet spot. She probably won't do anything, but it will reinforce that this is where she is to go.
